But he told Sky News even if Israel achieves its goal of destroying Hamas's military and political capabilities, 'the Palestinian issue will still remain'.'Israel has tried to deal with the Palestinian issue over the last 15 years through purely security means, and that seemed to work quite well,' he said.'There seemed to be some security in Israel and normalisation of relations with some Arab neighbours. But 7 October showed that policy ultimately wasn't successful.
