We’ve incorporated it into a lace that you see in the tights, the bras and the knickers, which we’re using a styling tool along with latex throughout the collection to toughen up the silhouette. Everything is very considered and quite complicated but looks quite simple and easy.They’re overprinted trompe l’oeil denim. Since we restructured the whole business with a lower price point, we’re really challenging ourselves with regards to techniques.
What made you want to work with these trompe l’oeil codes, like the leather pieces with the imprint of lapels?Did you decide to show in Paris before you designed the collection?Yeah. It’s a big deal for me to do a show in Paris. It’s been a dream, and therefore the collection has to reflect that. I always show clothes that are wearable. It’s never just about creating a silhouette that no one’s gonna buy and then selling a lot of bags. I sell what I show on the catwalk.
