Caitlin was part of a team who managed to accumulate £28,000 before she stepped up to face Mark Labbett but when she was offered the minus option by the Chaser she succumbed to the tempting offer.
ITV's The Chase continued on Wednesday night as Darren from Newbury got the team off to an exciting start as he bagged £24,000 for his team against Mark Labbett, The Beast, and viewers praised his performance in the opening round.
Following Darren's stellar performance was Caitlin, who left fans stunned at her decision to take the minus offer despite securing a respected £6,000 in the cash-building round, Edinburgh Live reports. The chaser offered Mel minus £2,000, and although Caitlin said she would be fine with her fellow competitor taking the lower offer, Mel opted to take on The Beast, increasing the team's total bag to £28,000.
Caitlin was the last to face the Chaser after her knowledge bagged her a decent amount to put towards the pot but she cracked under pressure when she was given the choice of the minus £7,000 offer which took their total to £21,000 as she apologised to her team.
