Jake Paul vs. Hasim Rahman Jr. has been canceled due to weight discrepancies between the fighters, Showtime announced Saturday night. The bout was set to headline a boxing card on Aug. 6 at Madison Square Garden that also featured the return of women’s featherweight champion Amanda Serrano.
“In the last 48 hours, it has become clear that these assurances were not made in good faith,” the promotion stated. But according to the statement from Most Valuable Promotions, Rahman’s camp refused to fight at 205 pounds and instead insisted that Rahman Jr. planned to weigh in at 215 pounds for the bout.
