Now, it has been reported by The Sun that his current stint behind bars could be coming to a premature end with sources saying the 40-year-old has a "strong chance" of going free because he has allegedly been making "positive" progress inside. February 2023 marks 30 years since James' murder and a parole hearing for Venables' release is set to be held in the coming weeks with a date supposedly earmarked for "early 2023". News of Venables' potential release from prison has sparked outrage.
