Everton captain James Tarkowski has questioned referee Craig Pawson's decision not to show Liverpool's Ibrahima Konate a red card in the Merseyside derby at Anfield
Everton captain James Tarkowski has called out the lack of "consistency" from referee Craig Pawson in the team’s defeat to Liverpool.
Despite being a player down, Everton continued to frustrate their rivals after the break, but were left aggrieved by another decision from referee Craig Pawson, midway through the second half. Liverpool’s Ibrahima Konate was already on a booking when he brought down Beto, but the referee opted against showing a second yellow card.
“I recall I got booked in the first half for fouling one of their lads in midfield and the ref said I was out of position and fouled him, so it’s yellow card,” Tarkowsi told Everton’s club website. “So, then, Konate was out of position, fouls our player and there was no yellow card. So where is the consistency?
