Jimmy Savile investigator says more ‘untouchable’ high-profile child sex abusers are out there 🔴 The former detective who exposed Savile's crimes reveals he has been working with police on a case against a 'very significant person'

says there is at least one other well-known living child sex offender who, so far, has evaded justice because he is “untouchable.”

“To date the CPS won’t prosecute. The police and I have tried really hard to get there. He will die in due course and then the floodgates will open in the same way they did with Savile. That’s not right. But justice takes many different forms.” , who worked with Simon Cowell on a “true-crime” investigative series for ITV. “There will always be innocent casualties of war and that’s what happened here.”

He believes the drama is “wrong. It will be sensational and it’s promotional for Coogan. But I have to say from an investigators and a victims’ point of view, what value does it serve? Where is the taste in having an individual playing Savile as a person?” “I’ve seen the value of lifting anonymity for victims to come forward. It’s one of the reasons the CPS didn’t have evidence to prosecute Savile when he was alive.”

“We conducted a properly-evidenced, forensic, police-style investigation over months. Also TV is visual medium so we had to get the victims willing to talk on camera, we couldn’t have everyone anonymised. The programme was down to the bravery of those women telling their story.” “It created Harvey Weinstein and Epstein . I’m honoured to have been a catalyst for something that has changed peoples’ lives.”

Williams-Thomas, who has examined the Jill Dando and Madeline McCann cases for TV films, is critical of the Leveson inquiry into press standards which criticised a “too close” relationship between police and journalists.
