Former Celtic star Jota could be offered a lifeline away from Al-Ittihad to hook up with Steven Gerrard.
Saudi Pro League rules stipulate that each squad can only have eight foreign players in their ranks and with the likes of Karim Benzema, N'Golo Kante and Fabinho all making the switch, Al-Ittihad have already filled that quota. It is believed they are willing to sacrifice the 24-year-old in order to make room for the Egypt star.
England international Jordan Henderson has already made the move alongside former Celtic duo Moussa Dembele - who netted the winner on his debut - and Jack Hendry with the former Rangers boss two for two so far this season.
