It is the second Just Stop Oil demonstration of the day after two protesters targeted Grigor Dimitrov’s clash with Sho ShimabukuroThis time, just one protester ran onto the court, during the first-set tie-break, again releasing orange confetti and puzzle pieces and revealing his Just Stop Oil t-shirt as he was met by loud booing, eventually being dragged off by security.
Boutler’s opponent Daria Saville was seen picking up some of the pieces before it forced a break in play as ground staff cleared the playing surface. Earlier in the day, a man and woman invaded the court during Dimitrov’s first-round clash against Shimabukuro. The man decided to sit by the net with his legs crossed as the woman was escorted off, before the male protester was also taken away.
Just like the Boulter match, the orange confetti appeared from a jigsaw puzzle box while pieces of a puzzle were also scattered onto the court.
