Just Stop Oil protestors have run onto the stage during the Proms at the Royal Albert Hall
The two activists unfurled an orange banner and attempted to address the audience before they were removed from the stage. As reported by the Mirror, a video was shared on social media by the group showing them calling on the government to commit to ending new fossil fuel licensing and production.
"In recent weeks, the BBC has been accused of ‘false balance’ as well as uncritically regurgitating government and oil company propaganda." The environmental group has targeted a number of events this year, including Wimbledon, the Chelsea Flower Show and the Ashes. Earlier this month, we revealed that the man behind Just Stop Oil was plotting to crash the justice system with a week of chaos starting this month.
Meanwhile, in a leaked battle cry speech, Mr Hallam claimed the week of slow marches – from July 16 to 23 – will act as a warm-up for October when he wants 3,000 activists arrested in a month to overwhelm police and the courts. He warned of “all hell breaking loose”.
