Justin Bieber posted a video on Instagram to explain why he had cancelled a series of upcoming performances. The singer revealed he has been struck by a rare virus that caused half of his face to be temporarily paralysed. Full story:
Bieber said he was certain he would get better, and would use time to"rest and relax".
He said:"This is pretty serious, as you can see. I wish this wasn't the case, but, obviously, my body's telling me I've got to slow down. "I hope you guys understand. I'll be using this time to just rest and relax and get back to a hundred percent so that I can do what I was born to do."What is Ramsay Hunt syndrome?
The NHS says Ramsay Hunt syndrome is caused by a virus in the facial nerve and is a more severe cause of facial paralysis. Possible symptoms include blisters in the ears and on the roof of the mouth, as well as facial weakness.The NHS says less than half of patients recover completely.
