The Branch Office. It’s a title that bugs Labour in Scotland. A group of politicians forever destined to tow the latest line laid down by their Westminster masters.
And over what issue did the leader of Labour in Westminster seek to flex his muscle over his Scottish subordinate?In fact, and to be extra precise, whether Starmer would negotiate with the SNP to deliver independence should we win the next general election in Scotland. And whether Starmer likes it or not, the cost-of-living crisis was made in Westminster. It’s a real-life consequence of the very Union Flag he drapes himself in.Scotland produces six times more gas than we consume and most of our electricity already comes from renewables. Yet the folk who live and work here continue to suffer. It’s criminal.
Food Bills. Households are being priced out of the basic foods they’ve bought for years because Westminster forced Brexit on us. At some stage he’s going to have to lay his cards on the table and outline how Scots can have a vote on their future. To not do so is to treat us as mugs.
