Alexander Pacteau was jailed for life in 2015 for brutally murdering 24-year-old Karen Buckley after meeting her at a Glasgow nightclub.

Pacteau, then 21, stalked her on the city’s Church Street at 12.30am – just 30 minutes before he was seen leaving the club with Karen. Mr Kerr has now revealed how the other woman unwittingly escaped the killer “at the last minute” and is lucky to be alive. Officers said she may have information that could assist with their inquiry but did not reveal any more information.
Judge Lady Rae described the case as “shocking and disturbing” and said she found it “extremely difficult” to find words to describe what he did to Karen.
