The actress will appear as her iconic character, Samantha Jones, for the season two finale of Max’s revival of HBO’s, revealing she will only appear in one scene, and did not see or speak to the stars of the series, including Sarah Jessica Parker, or showrunner Michael Patrick King. The scene will be a phone conversation between Samantha, who had moved to London, and Sarah's Carrie Bradshaw, although Kim will be seen on screen.
The news comes after the Golden Globe winner famously refused to reprise her role as Samantha amid reports of friction between the show's stars.In 2018 their feid went public when, following the tragic death of Kim's brother, Sarah commented on a social media post to offer her condolences. In a statement posted to Instagram, Kim responded: "I don't need your love or support at this tragic time @sarahjessicaparker... My mum asked me today, 'When will that @sarahjessicaparker, that hypocrite, leave you alone?' Your continuous reaching out is a painful reminder of how cruel you really were then and now. Let me make this VERY clear. You are not my family. You are not my friend.
The star said that the relationship had become "toxic" between her and Sarah, and hit out at being portrayed as a "diva", adding of Sarah: "I really think she could have been nicer. I don't know what her issue is." In response, Sarah told People magazine: "I never responded to the conversation Kim had with Piers Morgan, where she said things that were really hurtful about me. So there was no fight; it was completely fabricated, because I actually never responded. And I won't, because she needed to say what she needed to say, and that is her privilege."
