King Charles and Queen Camilla have made their first appearance back at Buckingham Palace since being crowned to receive a royal salute from the United Kingdom and Commonwealth armed forces.
They emerged onto the West Terrace to the sounds of the national anthem to receive a royal salute from the United Kingdom and Commonwealth armed forces who have been on parade.
The royal salute order was given by Lieutenant Colonel James Coleby, who commanded personnel in the garden. The Garrison Sergeant Major, Warrant Officer Vern Stokes, then gave personnel the order to remove headdress.It came before the King and Queen were expected to watch a flypast from the Palace balcony.More than 60 aircraft from the Royal Navy, British Army and Royal Air Force had been due to take part.
