Former Liverpool midfielder Salif Diao has suggested Jurgen Klopp was the reason for Sadio Mane’s departure.
Mane spent six years at Anfield, netting 120 times in 269 appearances, after signing from Southampton for £34million in 2016.The Senegal international helped Liverpool get their hands on the Champions League in 2019 and Premier League crown a year later. However, Mane’s time with Reds came to an end in the summer, after he sealed a switch to the Bundesliga,He started brightly in Germany, scoring five in his first 11 matches as he looks to replace club legend Robert Lewandowski.But he has since struggled for form, with Bayern currently eighth after six top-flight matches.
Diao believes a breakdown in communication between Klopp and the player could well have spelled the end for Mane,“I think he has been here for a couple of years and I think at some point he thought he did not have the love he needed really, here at Anfield,” he told the
