Labour face inheriting burden of spending cuts after Hunt's Autumn Statement Latest from ChaplainChloe.

This argument was supported by the Institute of Fiscal Studies – with director Paul Johnson suggesting that “delaying all of the difficult decisions until after the next general election does cast doubt on the credibility of these plans”.A Labour source close to shadow Chancellor, Rachel Reeves, argued it was “not inevitable” that cuts would be on the cards if the current Government was able to grow the economy over the next two years.

They argued that the Government could grow the economy faster if it were to bring forward its target for insulating homes to reduce energy demands and lower bills. But Labour has been calling forsince the beginning of the energy crisis and the party has argued that thousands of homes could have already been enjoying the benefits by now if the process had begun then.
