A Lanarkshire man has taken on a gruelling physical challenge to raise vital funds for a mental health charity.
Speaking after he completed the feat, an exhausted David said: "I'm absolutely shattered, my body is so sore, my back is just in absolute bits. I'm so tired and can't wait to get to my bed, it's one of the toughest things I've ever done." Far from his first challenge he has undertaken with Back Onside, David, a long distance runner, was looking to push himself after taking on an ultra Spartan race where he 50km.
He added: "The hardest part of the whole experience was when I was actually coming back down. The climb itself, the row was really, really tough - something I've never tried before as a marathon runner. I don't think I've ever rowed more than 10,000 metres before in my life, so that was tough. But coming back down just sucked the life right out of me.
