A new mum has thanked ambulance staff who helped deliver her baby boy in her bedroom in the nick of time.

It was really scary, especially because it was our first baby and we didn’t know what to expect. She said: "We got home from the hospital at 6am and I got in the bath. It [contractions] started getting really sore. Due to the pain, I had to get out of the bath and I went through to my bedroom to try to get comfortable on the bed. Liam phoned the hospital again to tell them the baby was coming but they said we wouldn't make it in time and told him to call 999."
