St Margaret's High celebrated the success of the talented youngsters' 'effort and academic achievements'.

Prize performers earned their moment in the sun at a Lanarkshire secondary school's senior awards ceremony.

Head teacher Kevin O’Connor also reflected on the wider achievements of the school community, which included S3 pupils becoming the first to undertake the Columba 1400 leadership programme, culminating in spending a week on the Isle of Skye; the school's charity work supporting St Andrew’s Hospice, SCIAF and St Vincent De Paul; and the work of the Citizenship group organising bake sales and coffee mornings and supporting the Mission Rabies charity.

"In the same S4 year group, over 52 per cent achieved a minimum of five National 5 awards or more, which represents a historical achievement.
