A different time... and some very different outfits 🤩
Decades before reality TV, there was an anomaly on our screens which gave the public a glimpse into British nightlife.
Whilst on air, The Hitman and Her visited The Palace and Sequins in Blackpool. The show also filmed in Park Hall in Chorley, The Ritzy in Burnley and Tokyo Jos in Preston. And Pete said: "Don't think you're getting me on Blackpool Tower." Later at the top of the tower, Pete points out the view and said he can see the football club, Golden Mile, funfair and where the show is coming from tonight - The Palace.
Four women participate in the competition, to which Pete tells the crowd - "this is the Nolans like you've never heard them before." Contestant number four wins a Rick Astley album. Situated next to the Camelot Theme Park in Charnock Richard, near Chorley, Park Hall's club was extremely popular in the nineties, known for its resident DJ's and clubbers queuing to get in. Today, the Park Hill site still exists today but as of publication, the venue appears closed.
The opening clip of one episode show Michaela and Pete outside The Ritzy doing penny for the guy, which they change to "penny for the witch" to reference the Pendle Witch Trials. Viewers also see pedestrians joining in on the shows intro, walking past the club dressed as witches.
