Across Lancashire, Chorley West is the area with the highest infection rate per 100,000 people
The number of confirmed cases of coronavirus in Lancashire is on the increase again after decreasing for a number of weeks.Despite this, dozens of areas across the county have recorded no data at all, in what is a welcome and very different picture to the height of the pandemic a few years ago. Many of the areas across Lancashire have also recorded a decrease in cases, however, the overall case rate for the county has increased by 10.4% in the week ending April 22.
The rise has been blamed on the new Omicron sub-variant XBB.1.16, which the UK Health Security Agency said in March’s variant report has made its way to Britain. Five deaths have been recorded among more than 100 sequenced cases in England.Here are the areas across Lancashire that recorded a case rate of more than 50 per 100,000 people: READ NEXT:
