The video is being circulated on social media
A police officer from Lancashire Constabulary has been referred to its Professional Standards Department after he was videoed calling a member of the public a 'f***ing biff'.
It shows the person recording the video approaching a Lancashire Constabulary van which was parked close to Preston railway station. Upon approaching the vehicle, the person said: "So here we have the Lancashire Police backing up the British Transport Police. They're living the dream I think."At this point, the man puts the camera up to the window of the van so two officers become visible, before putting his hands up to his ears to do a silly gesture.
The officer then went on to confirm he had called the person a biff, before adding: "You're annoying me now." The person recording remains at the window shouting 'sergeant' despite the fact that he is no longer engaging in the conversation and has rolled the window back up. The person recording is then encouraged to leave the scene and get on the train by another police officer. When a female officer askes the man where he is travelling to, he replied: "I don't have to tell you that."
