Perfect for this weekend
If you're planning to head out for a walk this weekend, there's no shortage of options across Lancashire.
Each week we like to offer a suggested route to help you explore the county - take a look at our previous offerings here - and this time we've headed over to east Lancashire. Based around Clowbridge Reservoir near Burnley, the route offers a mix of sights and terrains with views over the water and the surrounding moorland
The walk is based on way originally created as part of Visit Rossendale's Walks for Health initiative. It covers a distance of around three miles and should take around an hour to complete. The route starts at ends at the New Waggoners pub which promises "a warm welcome, a selection of real ales and wines, and a deliciously mouth-watering menu fit for any occasion". A popular stopping point for people enjoying the surroundings, the New Waggoners boasts a cosy bar area and open fire.
