He calls for BRICS partners to cooperate on equal terms, and also offers an update on his offer of free grain for African countries - which he says talks are almost finished on. Mr Putin also said the BRICS grouping was on course to meet the aspirations of most of the world's population. It's also been said that it is in Russia's interests to drag out the war in the hopes the West will back down. We've been reporting this afternoon on the start of the BRICS summit in Johannesburg - but what is it exactly? Few details have been released about what will be discussed at the summit, but mutual goals and how the countries can improve ties are usually on the agenda.
