Nearly £8m of taxpayers’ money has been spent on legal representation for Boris Johnson and other witnesses at the Covid inquiry so far, it has emerged janemerrick23 reports
Some £9.2m was spent on lawyers for both the inquiry and core participants during this period, including £4.5m for Mr Keith’s team and £4.7m for witnesses.revealed earlier this year that Mr Johnson, Mr Hancock and other former ministers would have their legal representation at the inquiry funded by the taxpayer.
Other costs include operational costs such as broadcasting feeds and IT, office accommodation, which up to June this year amounted to £5.6m.
