Temperatures are set to rise in the coming days as spring truly has sprung and the UK gets ready for its first "heatwave" of 2023.
Forecasters have previously told how the UK could be set for its first "soft heatwave" of the year, with temperatures set to reach 25C in some parts. Jim Dale, a senior meteorologist at British Weather Services said temperatures could rise from around April 15. However, Leeds is set to hot up before then, with temperatures reaching into the late teens this week. Yorkshire has already had some sunny spells so far this month and it feels like spring could finally be on its way.Speaking to The Express, Mr Dale said: "We do get heatwaves in April, it does happen. It'll be a soft heatwave for the second half of April, it could get somewhere in the mid-20s pushing to May, in that general direction.
