It's going to be a hot one this week!
The Met Office is predicting more 'above normal' temperatures will sweep across the UK over the coming days and temperatures could rise even further from August 15. And while the heat will not reach the levels of the 40C heatwave that hit last month, there is still the potential for some uncharacteristically warm weather.
According to the Met Office and BBC weather, temperatures could reach 29C in many parts of Yorkshire towards the end of next week. In Leeds, temperatures will reach 28C on Thursday and the glorious sunshine will continue into the weekend. The Met Office predicts temperatures will remain around the 28C mark until at least Saturday. It will be even warmer further across Yorkshire, with highs of 29C predicted for Sheffield and Doncaster.
In its long range UK weather forecast for the period between Thursday and Saturday , the Met Office said: "The start of the period will likely be fine and sunny for most. Cloud and light rain may be seen in the far northwest on Thursday, although these should clear by the end of the day. "Temperatures are expected to continue above average, becoming very warm or hot in the south and rather warm to warm in the north. Into the weekend and through next week, mainly dry and settled weather will likely continue for most. The north is expected to see the most of any precipitation, but there is also a low risk of thunderstorms developing in the south.
"Temperatures will likely range from warm to very warm for much of England and Wales, especially across the southern parts. Near normal to warm elsewhere."
