The inside track on Leeds United's 'high risk' medical approach to transfers Rob Price, Leeds United Head of Medicine and Performance, says his department will do everything they can to determine whether a player is categorised as high risk prior to signing for the Whites. He'll then present their findings to the board and manager who'll have the final say on signing a player, with the term 'failing a medical' somewhat of myth.
"We contact the previous club, we get all their GPS records, we do searches, social media searches to look at what this player has been like. Then we do a pretty comprehensive medical when they arrive."They spend a couple of hours in the scanner where we scan the back, the pelvis, the hips, the knees and the ankles. Then we have a look through that. They then spend more time with the medical staff who do a hands on assessment of them.
