Daniel Farke's Leeds United are approaching a run of Championship fixtures which promises to provide a huge test before the festive period
It’s fair to say Leeds United have been tested during their first 11 games back in the Championship this season. The Whites currently occupy fifth spot in the league ladder, having won five and drawn four over their opening two months of action and they are looking up the table rather than down it.
Since securing victory over Ipswich Town, who are currently second, Leeds have averaged two points a game, climbing the table and showcasing their early promotion credentials, with the 3-1 loss at Southampton being their only real hiccup on what was an off day for all. Those credentials will certainly be put under the microscope over the next weeks, though, with Daniel Farke’s Leeds set to take on some of the best the Championship has to offer.
He’ll surely get a good reception in East Anglia, but he’ll be desperate to get one over the Canaries, who are seventh in the table, two places and two points short of the Whites. Norwich have won all but one of their five games on home soil so far and the form of Jonathan Rowe has ensured they are the third highest scorers in the league at present.
The small matter of a West Yorkshire derby follows the trip to the Potteries, with Huddersfield Town making the short jaunt down the M62 to take on the Whites at Elland Road. The Terriers have hardly been pulling up trees this season, but, to use a cliché, form stands for little on derby day and Darren Moore’s side be determined to claim their first victory over Leeds since 2017.
