Visitors and residents were divided over the new nightclub ahead of its opening
Neighbours living near a new Nottinghamshire nightclub have spoken out about issues and changes they've faced following its recent opening. The Corn Exchange on Castle Gate, Newark, reopened as Club X on Saturday, July 1, after being closed and derelict for several years.
She went on to when everyone leaves the club at 3am they all leave together and hover. Regarding the noise of the club, she added: "They are all out at the back on the smoking deck and they don't close the doors." Civil servant Amanda Heaps, 58, also lives close to the nightclub. She stated: "There's been a few issues with noise. We have our headphones in every night. It's noticeable, but it isn't blaring."
Richard Sutherns, 58, of Newark, lives within walking distance from the nightclub. He said: "I moved here from Nottingham about four or five years ago after an accident, as for ten years I worked at a pub in Nottingham."
