As she prepares to lead the Lionesses to victory at this weekend's historic Women's World Cup Final, we take a closer look at Lioness Millie Bright's life off the pitch
As England’s Lionesses prepare to make history with their first ever Women’s World Cup final in Sydney Australia, one name that will surely be on everyone’s lips is team captain Millie Bright.
Although Millie clearly loved being outdoors, it wasn’t always easy for the youngster as she spend large portions of her childhood in hospital after having developed pneumonia as a baby, which later lead to asthma. She then left the club to join the Doncaster Rovers Bells in 2009, her first professional club as a senior.
In May 2019, Millie made her first ever Women’s World Cup debut in France. She played in two of the three group matches, as well as in round 16, alongside the quarter and semi-finals.
