The Lisburn Half Martathon event has been rerouted following concerns over "major traffic pinch points" around Lagan Valley hospital.
The June time event has attracted in excess of 6,000 participants to the city with changes now being made to include the 10k and fun run event for 2024.A council officer said: "Each year a post event evaluation involving all major stakeholders takes place. The South Eastern Health & Social Care Trust recently opened the new Lisburn Primary and Community Care Centre on the hospital site in Febraruy this year, which has already seen significant traffic issues raised in chambers.
Committee DUP chairperson, Thomas Beckett also raised his concern over the potentail for council liabilty.
