A Belfast principal has asked parents to collect children as soon as possible
Disruption to water supply in North Belfast is causing difficulties to businesses and schools.
NI Water engineers have located a burst main in the Limestone Road area this morning, with work currently being carried out. Some businesses have been left without water and a local primary and nursery school has been forced to close. The principal of Holy Family Primary school and Nursey Unit issued a statement asking parents to come and collect their children as soon as possible.
A notice read: "Dear Parents/Carers. There is a burst pipe on the Limestone Road and unfortunately, we have to close the school and nursery unit. We have no water for our toilets. This is a health and safety issue.A spokesperson for NI Water said: "Customers may experience a loss of water supply or a drop in pressure when the work is being carried out. We are working to fix the problem as soon as possible.
