as thousands of teachers walk out over pay. Members of the National Education Union are taking industrial action today .with four of those days affecting the North West.

Some schools are staying completely open, while others are fully closed. It's part of a dispute over teacher pay. The NEU says today's action follows a series of real-terms pay cuts over the past decade, while this year's pay rise offer of 5% falls well below inflation.
