Storms and showers are expected through the region today
A yellow thunderstorm warning is currently in place as storms are predicted to arrive in the region this afternoon.And while started off in a similar vein, that soon turned as we headed into the afternoon.According to the Met Office, thunderstorms hit part of the region at 1pm and are likely to continue until 3pm. Temperatures will start to drop to around 20C.
After 3pm there is set to be dry spells interrupted by showers before stormy conditions return again in the evening. From 6pm to 8pm, thunderstorms are forecast to return across the region.The Met Office says on the thunderstorms: "Heavy showers and thunderstorms are expected on Saturday, during the morning mainly over parts of England before becoming mainly focused over northern England and Scotland by late afternoon/evening.
