A number of residents were evacuated from their Co Tyrone homes on Friday afternoon after a suspicious object was found in the area.and have asked the public to avoid the area..
The local leisure centre has been made available for those who have been evacuated from their homes as a result of the security alert.Lesiure centre available for those evacuated Local UUP councillor Trevor Wilson has said Mid Ulster District Council has made Cookstown Leisure Centre available for any residents who have been evacuated as a result of the security alert.
"If anyone impacted by this security alert needs any help or support please go to the leisure centre as we await more information from the police."
