Police have closed off a street in West Belfast due a security alert.
Shortly after midday on Tuesday, October 11, police were called to a section of Lenadoon Avenue following reports that a firearm had allegedly been found in the area.Manhunt after 'terrifying' armed robbery on Antrim Road Motorists are being advised to avoid the area with diversions being put in place on Lenadoon Avenue at the junction with Horn Drive and Mizen Gardens.
A spokesperson said: "Police are currently at the scene of a security alert following the discovery of a suspicious object in the Lenadoon area of west Belfast. Cordons are in place. "Motorists are advised traffic diversions are in place at the Lenadoon Avenue at the junction with Horn Drive and Mizen Gardens. Please avoid the area if possible."
