The Berry Street bakery will now battle it out for the top spot
Bonbon Bakery on Berry Street has been officially named as one of the best bakeries in the North West. It will now battle it out for the top spot at the National Bakery Awards 2023.
Bonbon Bakery is a family-run Chinese bakery that first opened in January 2013. Its sweet and savoury creations are displayed behind glass cases, with customers taking a tray to choose which items they may want before taking them to the counter where they're boxed up.There's a vast selection of baked goods, all of which are very reasonably priced. There are large coconut buns for £1.50 each, a variety of pork buns priced at £1.60-£1.
All items are baked fresh daily in the kitchen downstairs and often sell out by the evening. Bonbon Bakery is among the 62 spots across England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland that have been nominated as part of this year's awards.
