Liverpool Football Club paid tribute to Everton chairman Bill Kenwright on Thursday night following news of his death.
Despite his unshakeable allegiance to the Blues, Kenwright always had a strong bond with the club's red rivals from across Stanley Park. When the independent report into the disaster in 2012 exonerated the Liverpool supporters of any responsibility for the death of 97 fans at the stadium in Sheffield in 1989, Everton paid their own tribute with the playing of The Hollies’ “He Ain’t Heavy, He’s My Brother” before a Premier League match with Newcastle United.
