Police are treating the incident as 'wilful'.
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service had four appliances at the scene on Vaila Street from 2pm and they battled the blaze well into the evening.Luckily, no one was injured or taken to hospital as a result.A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: "We were alerted at 13.54pm on Wednesday, 10 August to reports of a fire on Vaila St, Glasgow Road.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 2pm on Wednesday, 10 August, 2022, police and emergency services were called to a fire at a flat on Vaila Street in Glasgow. “Residents from surrounding properties were evacuated and no-one was required to be taken to hospital. The fire is being treated as wilful and a 24-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident.
