Traffic is queuing for at least five miles
Long queues are building on a major stretch of motorway after a 'multiple-vehicle collision'. One lane is closed on the M60 between junction 10 and 11 anticlockwise due to the crash, causing long delays.
The incident has taken place near Eccles and Barton Bridge causing traffic on surrounding routes. Emergency services are at the scene. Traffic website Inrix says there is at least five miles of traffic with traffic back to junction 15 near Swinton Interchange. The website adds that traffic is slow heading clockwise 'due to onlookers'. The crash is believed to have involved two cars.A National Highway North West tweet said: "Lane 3 of is closed on the #M60 anti-clockwise J11- 10 near #Eccles #BartonBridge following a multiple-vehicle collision. #TrafficOfficers and emergency services are working at the scene.
Inrix says: "Long delays, one lane closed and queueing traffic for five miles due to accident, two cars involved on M60 anticlockwise between J11 A57 Liverpool Road and J10 B5214 Trafford Boulevard . "Congestion to before J15 . Traffic is queuing on the other side due to onlookers. Lane three remains shut. Lane two was reopened at 15:10."
