Budding footballers will be dusting off their shooting boots to test out the new goals at Spateston Park in Johnstone.

The sparkling equipment was installed after being chosen as part of the YouDecide campaign, Renfrewshire Council’s participatory budget initiative.

The much-needed substitution has been welcomed by Councillor Andy Steel, the SNP representative for Johnstone South and Elderslie, who conceded the change was well overdue.“Credit has to go to the community groups and residents who drummed up the support for this project, especially Spateston Community Development Trust.
