As well as a rooftop terrace, Union Bar, and state of the art facilities for clubs and societies, One Elmwood is also home to the newly revamped Mandela Hall.

It has also been created to be more efficient and substantially cheaper to run, operate and maintain, reflecting the most up to date sustainability know how to provide a net zero ready building that is future proofed for generations to come.

Student's Union President Emma Murphy told Belfast Live it's brilliant to see students using the building, adding there is a real buzz about the space already. "The amount of students that are already taking up what we have on offer here is amazing. Last Friday we had a free brunch for students and we had around 700 students line up. It's a really exciting year for students to be able to engage with the student's union, I think after Covid too it's a great place to have a sense of community.

Director of Student Plus Caroline Young, said:"This building has been a labour of love for the last seven years as we have sought to assure we can offer a real home from home for students, and somewhere that can become a real heartbeat for life on campus."
