'Just another soppy love story? Probably – but a rather heartwarming one'
A retired teacher has written a heartwarming book made up of letters her late husband wrote to her in the 1960s.
After Les died two-and-half-years ago at the age of 72, Maureen began to look through their old letters and spent half a year making a biography called ‘From Me To You xxx’, which tells their incredible love story.The 168-page book, which was published on May 25, features 90 of the letters Les wrote to Maureen between 1965 and 1968 and the story is written from his point of view.
Maureen says the book is dedicated to them. The book contains a mixture of humour and romance and discusses several topics such as current affairs and popular culture. Maureen worked at Hollins School in Accrington from 1970 until 1986 and she moved to Bowland High School for 18 years.
