The exhibition at London's Freud Museum explores the famous painter's childhood and family life.
An exhibition celebrating what would have been artist Lucian Freud's centenary has opened at the Freud Museum in north London.Lucian Freud: The Painter and His Family uses rarely seen items such as illustrated letters to explore the artist's childhood and family life.
The British painter, who was born in 1922, would often use his family as a muse during a career which spanned six decades, up to his death in 2011.Head of Ali, a portrait featuring painted by Freud of his son Alex Boyt is one of several paintings on show.Books written by Freud's children which have covers designed by the artist are also included in the display.The exhibition based in the former home of Sigmund Freud, the founder of psychoanalysis, will run until 29 January 2023.
