Police recovered a series of ‘souvenirs’ and medical documents relating toAmong the mementos the killer nurse kept in her house, officers found 250 nursing handover sheets, thank you cards, results from a blood test and resuscitation notes from episodes in which some of the babies died or collapsed.Unaware of the fact the she had murdered their baby and attempted to poison another, the parents sent over a card addressed to the nurses of the neonatal unit, alongside a hamper of food.
The nurse told police: ‘I often take pictures of any cards that I have sent, even birthday cards – anything like that. I often take pictures of them. The front of a diary, along with a Post-it note which was found inside the diary, recovered from a chest of drawers at the home of Lucy Letby. ‘It was a real priviledge to care for and get to know you as a family – a family who always put first and did everything possible for her.‘Thinking of you today and always – sorry I cannot be there to say goodbye.
