Cameron House sacked 12 members of staff and closed it's fine-dining restaurant after failing to earn the top award.
A luxury hotel sacked chefs and waiting staff and closed its flagship fine dining restaurant after it failed to earn a Michelin star. Management at Cameron House on Loch Lomond decided to shut the Tamburrini and Wishart restaurant just two years after it opened, making all 12 staff redundant.
Zack Brotherton, 32, who was the restaurant’s head chef, said: “I’ve worked for Paul and Martin for 10 years and never had an issue with them. We were employed by Cameron House and the issue is with them. Miroslava Semanova, who was restaurant manager, said: “It was so sudden and unprofessional. We’re a great team. It’s not the way you expect to be treated by any employer.”
“Getting a Michelin star was never in the employment contracts when they were approached about the project – that’s not something you could ever require. It’s an ambition but you can’t use it as a condition of employment. Top news stories today At Loch Lomond until it was forced to close due to a fire at the hotel in 2017.
