M&S addresses Holly Willoughby axe as This Morning is flooded with over 65,000 queue gate complaints
High street giant M&S has issued a statement on Holly Willoughby's future with the brand. It comes after a petition to sack her from This Morning received over 65,000 signatures.
People were left furious when they learned of allegations that the This Morning duo Holly Willoughby and Philip Schofield had 'queue jumped' the line to see the Queen's coffin. ITV later clarified that they'd been given priority access to cover the event as part of the media, but fans took issue with the fact that this was happening while tens of thousands of people had been queueing for hours on end.
Holly now seems to have also gained the backing of retailer M&S, for which she is described as an ambassador.According to the Daily Star, an M&S spokesman said: “I can confirm we have extended our current contract with Holly, and we will continue to work with her." Holly's fans feared she had been weeping over the incident ahead of Wednesday morning's show, but an ITV insider said: "She has been devastated by all the negative reaction after she turned up to work at Westminster Hall with Phil on Friday, but she's not going to resign.
"This Morning has been her life for more than a decade and the only way she'd consider quitting at this stage is if viewers really didn't want her there."
