The M1 has been closed in both directions this morning following a police incident.
The busy motorway is closed southbound between junction 29 and junction 28 and northbound between junctions 27 and 28.
Motorway cameras show a lengthy line of queuing traffic building up in both directions as the morning rush-hour gets underway. Motorists are advised to seek alternative routes if possible and to prepare for longer journey times.
